A review of Scout Tee
What a great little pattern this is.
Perfect for a beginner, as there are no zips, buttons, darts or gathers. For a more confident sewist you could virtually make it with your eyes closed!
Perhaps the only challenge a beginner would have would be setting in the sleeves, really not a problem however.
It is all beautifully illustrated in the instruction booklet. (I own the paper copy, but it is available in PDF format).
I think the beauty of this pattern is that it is so simple, but depending on your fabric choice you can make it look like a completely different pattern. This pattern is suitable for woven fabrics by the way.
I love the crepe chosen for this project because although this top has no darts, it falls to a relaxed fit below the bust, making this fabric a lovely choice because of how it drapes. I can imagine a completely different look would be achieved using a striped cotton and this will likely be my choice the next time I make one.
I look forward to making many more of these, a perfect everyday wardrobe essential!
