A review of The Maker's Atelier The Atelier Shirt

I made a shirt when I first started sewing for my husband and the collar and cuffs were a mess so that put me off for a while, but this pattern has restored my confidence. The instructions are impeccably written, walking you through each step clearly in just enough detail to get you there. If each step has too much description that can put you off but this was just right. I messed up a little and didn’t reverse my second placket, but honestly who gives a toss?

The pattern itself is a total bargain because you effectively get three patterns in one with the 3 different views. I made the pleated back version and I’m so pleased with the result I plan to make more in the other views. Mine is cut in a size 20 which came up super roomy but I like that. The sizes and notching on the pattern are really clearly marked which minimises mistakes. All in all another impeccably written, drafted and graded Maker’s Atelier pattern.
