Perfect dress for autumn paired with tights and boots
A review of Indigo Top and Dress
I have seen so many gorgeous versions of this new release from Tilly and the buttons and was so excited to order it. I couldn’t wait for it to arrive and had ordered the perfect fabric from Sewisfaction for my version that had already arrived. I knew this pattern would come up with lots of ease so took this into consideration when choosing the size to make. I usually make a size 3 for Tilly’s patterns but as I didn’t want this to look like a tent I decided to size down and I’m pleased I did. I made up a size 2 and found it still had plenty of ease but looked fine on me and not too baggy. As usual Tilly’s instructions are nice and clear and really hold your hand throughout. It’s a really simple smock dress and can be made as a simple dress or too or you can make the ruffle version. I found the ruffle really easy to construct and it’s a cute detail. I’ve already cut out my second version and I have a third and fourth planned. It also has pockets which is a win win in my eye!!
