Pajamas to Read In!
A review of Carolyn Pajamas
I absolutely love this pattern; having made it three times now. This latest iteration is the full-on piped and cuffed version. In hindsight I have no idea why I was somewhat daunted at the prospect of the piping – the idea of doing it to the notched collar particularly made me shudder. But like always, the idea of it was much scarier than the actual doing! Turns out that sewing in piping is fun!
There are a few areas of this pattern that some might pause at – the collar, buttonholes etc. But I really do believe that sewing this pattern a few years ago really increased my confidence as a, then, beginner sewer. Sewing them again these few years later has yet again increased my confidence!
I really love my latest version; they’re incredibly comfy and I know they’ll last years of repeated washing and wear – well worth the time invested in sewing them up.
I go into more detail about the piping and how I pattern match trickier areas like the cuffed and piped breast pocket, as well as sewing that collar, over on my blog www.sewsarahsmith.com.
