Oh la la Jumpsuit

A review of Orageuse Copenhague Jumpsuit

Inspired by the #sewtogetherforsummer2019 jumpsuit challenge, I had this cut out forever but finally sewed it this weekend and I’m so glad I did.

Modifications:
– added 2″ to the leg. The model is 5’6″ but my limbs are quite long so the extra length is needed
– switched out the back welt pockets to patch pockets (I used my Ginger jeans pocket) – I don’t have a lot of curve so extra fabric on the butt helps!
– I used a lightweight denim, which is still heavier and less drapey than recommended so I lined with a quilting cotton.
– Shockingly, I didn’t have any problems fitting the bust despite being a D-cup but perhaps because it’s actually quite blousey.

Hints: measure yourself very carefully and measure the patten pieces for length. I made a size 36 and luckily, I fit but exactly so. There is very little room or ease since the seams are 3/8″ and the pants are quite fitted, despite the pleating. The top part is more forgiving.

I would absolutely sew this again maybe in a linen or wool crepe but will decide based on how much I end up wearing this one! ?
