New Look 6644 Combats

A review of New Look Trousers and Top N6644

Nice casual fitting trouser but with over complicated instructions.

I made the largest size, 20, view B, which came up a little snug across the hip. I shortened the length by 3ins (I’m 5ft 2.5).

I omitted the ribbon and top stitching on the hip pockets and used a contrasting cotton for part of the pocket bags, as my fabric was quite a sturdy drill & I didnt want any excess thickness/bulk across my tummy area. I didn’t bother with the back pockets either.

I used a cord & cord stops, instead of twill tape at the waist and also didn’t do the ankle tabs as these are winter trousers I won’t be turning them up!

I used poppers on the leg side pockets instead of buttons, as I felt the fabric loop closures, would be too thick. I love the look of the metal poppers & used my Prym varioplyers to fix them on.

Overall I pleased with how they turned out & some nice top stitching details on the back yoke and patch pockets.
