Melilot shirt – Deer & Doe

Here is my ‘looking-forward-to-sunnier-weather-shirt’ the Deer and Doe Melilot. I took my time sewing this baby in small bursts of energy over the course of a few weeks.
The instructions are VERY brief / unclear in places if you are new to shirt making, in particular with regards to the hidden placket which totally boggled my mind and I had to un-pick and re-sew it a few times.

As is often the case with me-made garments I only noticed at the END of construction that the collar is sitting slightly to the right – only a keen sewist would notice (I’m hoping) and I think it’s to do with my confusion with the button plackets. Despite this fault I am really happy with the finished result and received many a compliment about it at work. The fabric is a table cloth I bought in the H&M homeware sale last summer for £3.50.
