McCalls Dresses M6886 review

I have made this pattern 5 times now and it never disappoints. It’s super versatile and has so many variations – even though I always make the same one… ? Why break a winning formula, right?
It’s worked with single jersey, interlock and scuba and they’re all secret pyjamas. The fit for me strikes the perfect balance between fitted and comfortable: it makes me look good and it doesn’t cling to anything.
This particular one was made for a project that my local fabric shop came up with. It’s possibly my favourite because of the incredible fabric. Such a simple pattern is the perfect canvas for a crazy print like this one.
I do have some excess fabric on the back in all my versions – and it’s a complaint I’ve heard from other people – but it doesn’t bother me enough to try to fix it.
