Loved this pattern

A review of The Avid Seamstress Blouse

As the title says I loved this pattern. This was my first attempt at sewing a blouse, so I had no previous experience with button holes, set in sleeves, or collars, but the instructions on this pattern made it really clear what I needed to do. That doesn’t mean I did it perfectly but I think the loose fit means it’s a quite forgiving pattern so my mistakes don’t seem very visible.

I’m a UK size 12-14 and made the size 5, there is plenty of ease in this pattern and I think it’s the bust measurement that you need to keep an eye on. I had read some reviews that said it didn’t need a full 2 metres of fabric, I probably had about 30cm left so if you are smaller you might be able to squeeze it out of a metre and a half. I also lengthen the bodice by 1.5 inches as I’m 5 7 with a longish torso.
