TILLY AND THE BUTTONS INDIGO SMOCK TOP

Tilly and the Buttons Indigo is really the ultimate smock top/dress combo you could wish for – it’s so comfortable, swishy and dreamy! I really love the version with the frilled seam at the waist, and I hacked the sleeves to have narrow ruffle cuffs instead of the full flounce sleeves. I made a couple of adjustments, including a FBA to make sure I had enough ease at the bust and I used French seams for all my seam finishings, including at the armscye.

I made the Top version with the frilled seam at the waist out of this a beautiful viscose, which has a print of shells, anemones and reeds. Whenever I wear this top, I feel like a mermaid! You can see more photos and details on my blog.

Tilly and the Buttons Indigo is rated for a ‘a ‘Confident Beginner’, as there is nothing here that is too tricky — I highly recommend Tilly patterns as they are so easy to follow. This pattern is a definite 5 stars from me!
