Honestly, this is a brilliant pattern.
Fantastic size range – I made a 10 grading to a 12 at the waist and it feels very comfortable to wear. You can choose to add some omph to the gathered shoulders, which I did by interfacing the shoulder puff piece with mid/heavy interfacing, the instructions talk you how to do this. Alternatively you can simply gather the shoulder seams if you want them to lie flat. I was concerned that the shoulders might feel uncomfortable especially with a jacket on top, but really this isn’t an issue at all. I love the overall look, I don’t particularly love gathering, but it’s worth it.
