It’s popular for a reason!

A review of Paper Theory Patterns Zadie Jumpsuit

Reviewed by Mel Forrest on 18th April, 2022

This is such a popular pattern, I just had to try it for myself and I’m pleased I did! Although it looks complicated, the construction is actually quite simple and this would be a suitable project for an adventurous beginner dressmaker.

I used a medium-weight navy blue linen for my version and if you don’t mind looking a little crumpled, I think linen is an ideal fabric for an easy breezy jumpsuit.

The instructions are absolutely fantastic and I thought every step was well-written and illustrated. I particularly like the attention to seam finishing throughout the sewing process, which leaves you with a very neat and tidy garment – my favourite!

My measurements fit into the size 10 for the jumpsuit, but after reading the fitting notes and a few reviews I decided to size down to the 8 and I’m really pleased with the fit. The only adjustment I made was to shorten the legs by 2″ at the hem as I am only 5′ 4″ and the pattern is drafted for someone who is 5′ 7″ tall.

I really love my finished jumpsuit – it’s comfortable and easy to wear, but makes me feel really ‘put together’ with very little effort. You can see more photos over on my blog post here.
