I’m in love – Greer Jumpsuit

A review of Hey June Handmade Greer Jumpsuit

When I was in school in DC in the early 90s there was a shop in Georgetown called Streetwear. They sold their own designs in drapey fabrics. One of those designs was an overall with deep armholes, wide legs, and thin straps. I bought one in black that I wore all. the. time. I loved it so much I had another one made years later. Sadly neither is still in my closet. I’ve tried to frankenpattern combining the Romy top with pj bottoms with no luck. Then the Greer Jumpsuit by @heyjunehandmade was released.

The clouds parted, the sun shone down, and the angels sang. Laaaa! The Greer Jumpsuit. Thank you Adrianna!

I pulled this linen from deep stash and cut a size 8. It’s perfect. Instead of having tied straps I sewed them down in the back then tried it on to determine the right finished strap length for me, then sewed them down in the front, too.

I turned the hem 3/8” then 1” and hand sewed in place. (For reference I’m 5’4”.)

I did have to cheat the pockets a bit toward the center seam because they would have been caught up in the side seams if I had placed them where indicated.

There are many more of these in my future.
