Great pattern for colour blocking!

A review of Sew DIY Ali Sweatshirt

This is a perfect pattern for a bit of scrap busting and upcycling. It would be easy enough to cut the sleeves & yoke in one if you were going with a single fabric (by just removing the seam allowance from the pattern pieces and cutting on the fold). But I had a lot of fun combining leftover scraps from other makes, plus fabric and cuffs/hem salvaged from an old hoodie of my son’s that was destined for the rag bag thanks to stains no amount of soaking and spraying would shift.

This is the view A crew neck combined with the shorter tapered body of view B, with a centimetre taken off the length and a few cams extra width added to the hem band because I prefer a boxy fit. I needed to take a fraction off my neckband to get it lying flat but otherwise no mods.

The end result is a cosy, relaxed sweater which is a lot of fun to wear!
