Great introduction to tailoring

I’ve been wanting to make the Francine jacket for ages so I was delighted when Sew Over It released this pattern with the added option of an online class. This is the most advanced garment I’ve made so I opted for the ‘hand holding’ of the online class and really took my time with it.

I highly recommend the online class. Each step is clearly explained and broken down into manageable chunks and the jacket came together easily. I learned so much from this class with loads of useful info on pressing wool to get a great finish, hand sewing techniques and tailoring skills.

I was a bit daunted before I began as cutting out interfacing, lining and the fabric itself seemed like a mammoth task but once I got started I really enjoyed the process. This isn’t a quick make but so worth the time and effort involved and I’m sure I’ll be making another one soon.
