Pattern instructions – great, really really great! The instructions fantastic and super clear and there’s also the sew-along with tons of photos to make every single step perfectly clear.
Fitting and alterations – I took the hip measurement at my widest point (aka my tushy) instead of my hip, and ended up cutting two sizes larger than needed. I figured this out when I basted all the pieces together to check the fit as recommended in the pattern. I would definitively advise you to do the same, as different denims will behave differently. Apart from this first hitch, the rest of the make went swimingly and I did not make any other change to the A version on size 8. It’s a bit too lose on the waist but other than that it’s perfect.
Fabric – denim with 3% elastane from the local fabric shop (Feira dos Tecidos), for topstitching I used doubled duet thread (50% cotton, 50% polyester), instead of the topstitching thread. I would highly recommend you to find someone to loan you a second sewing machine, you get sick of changing threads each time you’re topstitching really really fast!! For the buttonhole I went back to the single thread, as the doubled thread was a bit too thick. I got all the hardware (jeans button and rivets) from Minerva crafts. The rivets were installed by my boyfriend bc he’s much more handy with a hammer than me.
Difficulty – I’d recommend this pattern to anyone that isn’t afraid of a challenge. The pattern is a lot of work, but every detail is crystal clear.
