Extended sizing Monarch fits the bill

I tested the Monarch jacket extended sizing in a 16 for Allie Olson and liked the jacket so much I made a second. The new sizing adds US 12-30 sizes based on a D cup and also bust darts to suit a curvier chest.

Construction is very fast for a jacket – just a few hours – and this is because it’s a knit jacket with raglan sleeves and relatively few pieces. You can really make the jacket look quite different depending on which fabric you use. For my first I used a See you at Six French Terry which makes a fab layer and is so cozy. The brass snaps went quite well I thought and I used more than the suggested number.

For a second version I sized up to an 18 because I wanted to create more of an outerwear jacket and so left out the snaps and used a slightly heftier fabric. I think it worked really well and construction was very well explained.
