Cotton voile honeycomb

The honeycomb dress is a relaxed fit shirt waist style, with a mandarin collar, a few sleeve options and cute little waist ties to help with shaping at the waist. I made it in a size 6, grading to an 8 at the waist. In retrospect a straight size 6 could have been fine as there is a lot of ease at the waist! Instructions were good although I found the collar a little confusing. Luckily Ana has a youtube video/ sewalong so I followed that instead! I made it in a lovely cool cotton voile which worked well. Overall I’m pleased with the dress, it feels lovely and fresh for summer and I’ll wear it lots (it also has pockets…). However if I made it again I’d probably- make the waist ties a bit wider as they are very thin, I’d also not shorten the bodice this time (not really sure why I did that!). The other slight issue I have is there is a lot of ease around the bust- a little too much for me really, but I’m not sure how to remove that…. However that is a personal preference and generally I think this pattern is very cute!
