cool in culottes – vogue 9075
A review of Vogue Dress and Jumpsuit V9075
Alright, so this dress is not my favorite pattern – but I still loved the outcome! I went with the sleeveless culottes version and accidentally didn’t cut the center front piece of the bodice on the fold, so I had to get creative with some other fabric in my stash.
I went a size smaller than my measurements because my first attempt at this dress was a bit big! I shortened the bodice a teeny tiny bit as well so it would sit at my natural waist! Other than that, this garment took me about 5-6 hours to complete (one evening).
One comment that I have about this pattern is that there is not much about finishing the seams. If I would do it again, I would try to use french seams instead of having a ton of overlocked seams on the inside which can get a bit scratchy. There were also no instructions about unpicking the basted pleats, so I went ahead and unpicked the stitching and I liked the outcome!
Overall, I’m happy with the bodice finish so I may use that at a bodice and attach a different bottom to make it more easy to wear on a casual day!
