Pattern Description: This loose fit “coatigan” has a dropped shoulder line to add ease and comfort and the sleeves can turn back for a casual feel. The square edged shawl collar drapes into a waterfall front or it can wrap over to create a double breasted look.

Pattern Sizing: XS to L – I made Small.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? This was my first attempt to make a coat/coatigan. Pattern and online instructions are clear and easy to follow. Instructions indicate you can use your overlocker to sew the garment but I chose not to use my overlocker and kept the raw edges around the coat as boiled wool does not fray. Pockets sewn using a small over edge stitch around. I made a mock-up first cutting the Medium but this was too big. Garment sizing is very generous so would suggest going down a size. Pattern states 1cm seam allowance throughout but I sewed 5/8 inch seam allowance for side seams and the rest was 1cm. No lining required.

Fabric Used: 100% Boiled Wool

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: Length -Took off 10cm.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, a good project for making your first coat.

Conclusion: Will definitely make again.
