An Autumnal Pippi

A review of Jennifer Lauren Handmade Pippi Pinafore

Reviewed by Norfolk Daphne on 20th September, 2019

I’ve been wanting to sew the Jennifer Lauren Pippi Pinafore for absolutely ages and have been following lots of makes on Instagram. I love the fitted waistband and of course that it has different cup size options. I was thinking I’d like a wool one, but then I spotted a gorgeous Robert Kaufman Essex Shetland Flannel Russet Fabric on Guthrie & Ghani’s website. It’s got an amazing herringbone pattern that looks like wool , but being 100% cotton it washes well – always a bonus! It’s feels a bit like a lightweight wool, it’s lovely and soft to the touch.
I made a few tweaks to the pattern as I went along, but overall found it to be very straightforward to make and the instructions are excellent.
I absolutely love the finished dress and can’t wait to wear it!
