Akita Top Seamwork

I was disappointed with the fit of this. I made a 14 to fit my 42 inch bust but it swam on me – could have easily made a 12, and possibly even the 10. I found the shoulder to bust was far to long and the darts were practically at my waist. the neckline was also far too big. Managed to remedy by taking 2 inches out of the shoulder (but changed the look by adding a shoulder seams) and taking 1.5cm out of each side seam. I also needed to take nearly 2 inches from the bottom, so if you are short on fabric, you could certainly take some of the length out as it is tunic, not blouse length. But other than that, it is a simple style and I have made adjustments to my paper pattern and ready to give this another go in a size 10 (and raising the dart 1/2 an inch).
