A cute top from McCalls

I really enjoyed sewing this top, and it’s nice and breezy to wear on warm summer days.

There are quite a few options in this pattern, but I made probably the simplest of all of them. I went for view A (the shorter length top with short sleeves), but omitted the breast pockets. As it’s a simple style, it sewed up really quickly and was easy to make. I’m definitely planning to try some of the other options at some point.

I’d recommend looking at the finished garment measurements on the pattern paper itself when choosing what size to make. It’s intended to be a loose style, but I made a straight size 14, which is a size smaller than recommended for my bust measurement and two sizes smaller than recommended for my waist and hip measurements, and it’s still plenty loose enough. If I’d made the size recommended for my measurements I think it would have been too baggy for my taste at least.
