1940s Wrap Dress
I made this dress for my sister who wanted something new for her work wardrobe – she travels a bit for her job so she wanted something that was flattering but also easy to wear and could survive being in a suitcase without needing to be ironed. I chose this crepe as I thought it was a good work colour but also doesn’t need ironing.
I cut a size 14 and made no pattern adjustments other than lengthening the bodice by 1”. It a straight forwarded enough make although it was quite time consuming, especially as there’s a fair amount of hand sewing – never my favourite task! But well worth it as it gives a lovely finish.
