This was my first Lizzie dress and I’m really pleased with the final result. I did need to add some length to the bodice however as I think it seemed a little on the short side but I achieved a nice fit. I lengthened the box-pleated skirt by 12cms too, simply because I had enough fabric to do so. The neckline is a pretty shape, slightly bateau with a centre notch and being sleeveless makes it a perfect summer make but I’ll also wear mine with a cardigan when the weather cools down. I made it in a lovely cotton lawn and fully lined it although that’s not part of the pattern. You could make it in a variety of fabrics, it would look great in a brocade or with an embellished bodice for something much dressier for example.
