Buy the Baby/Child/Teen and Women's Senna Skirt sewing pattern from WISJ Designs. Senna is a midi skirt for children (18 months - 14 years) and women. It’s a straight skirt with two side slits. There’s an option for a slightly gathered back to increase wiggle room (standard for the children's version). Additional options include pockets and a drawstring in the waistband.

Suggested fabrics:
Children: Senna can be made with both stretch and woven fabrics. A thicker fabric like French terry or corduroy works perfectly - the skirt has some more ‘volume’ to it. Equally beautiful is a light, summery version in tricot or viscose. With these fabrics, Senna drapes beautifully on the hips. These fabrics are recommended for the larger sizes.
Women: Senna can be made with both stretch and woven fabrics. For thicker fabrics like French terry or corduroy, use the version without gathers on the back. More flowy fabrics like viscose and tencel are perfect for Senna too.
Fabric requirements: 140 cm wide fabric: Children, 40 - 100 cm / Women, 1.2 - 1.7 m // 110 cm wide fabric: Children, 40 - 150 cm / Women, 1.7 - 2 m.
Sizing: 18 months - 14 years and EU 34 – 50 (approx. UK 8 – 22). Please check the size charts and finished garment measurements.
Notions: Waist elastic, 25 mm wide for children or 30 mm wide for women; fusible interfacing (4 pieces of 1 cm x 3 cm) to reinforce the side seams around the slits; fusible interfacing (5 cm x 2 cm) to reinforce the buttonholes (or 2 ‘wonderdots’ or a piece of Decovil light to reinforce the eyelets if not using buttonholes); eyelets of max. 1 cm diameter (if not using buttonholes); string/cord.
PDF pattern includes: Instructions; A4 print-at-home pattern (14 pages for children, 20 pages for women); A0 copy shop pattern (1 sheet with overlapped pieces or 2 sheets with separate pieces) // Layers: Yes (print-at-home only) // Projector file: No.
