Buy the Baby/Child Sunset Shirt sewing pattern from Waves & Wild. The Sunset Shirt is a traditional style, unisex, button front shirt. Choose between long or short sleeves, a regular or grandad collar, a regular hem or snap crotch (up to age 4), and regular or flat felled seams. The shirt has an optional pocket.

Suggested fabrics: Light to medium weight woven fabric such as cotton poplin, chambray, quilting cotton.
Fabric requirements: 140 cm (55") wide fabric: Regular shirt, 60 - 140 cm (5/8 - 1 1/2 yd) // Snap crotch shirt (up to age 4), 70 - 110 cm (3/4 - 1 1/4 yd).
Sizing: 0-3 months – 12 years. Please check the size chart.
Notions: 30 cm (12") of light/medium weight fusible interfacing; a maximum of 11 buttons/snaps, with an additional 2 - 4 buttons/snaps for the long sleeve version and 3 snaps for the snap crotch version; a maximum of 75 cm (30") of 12 mm (1/2") bias binding for the snap crotch version; 10 mm (3/8") wide elastic for the snap crotch version.
PDF pattern includes: Instructions; A4/legal/letter print-at-home pattern (26 pages); A0 copy shop pattern (2 sheets); projector pattern. This pattern has layers so you can print just the sizes(s) you need.

I wanted to make a shirt for my son’s first day of school and after ages of hunting for a kids collared button up shirt pattern (the market is surprisingly lacking) I saw this, I’ve made W&W patterns before so I know they’re always to an incredible standard, and this was no exception. I made it in a cotton flannel and he just looked so bloomin cute! Since then I’ve made a few more using this pattern and they’re all so perfect. The instructions are excellent and it was a really enjoyable project to make.
He has requested some more shirts, and I have some of the carrot fabric left over so I may have to recreate the shirt for his next birthday. I also made my partner a matching carrot shirt and they love wearing them together
