Vikisews Caitlin Dress

Buy the Caitlin Dress sewing pattern from Vikisews. Caitlin is a close-fitting dress with an accentuated waist. It features a waist seam that sits above the natural waistline, a deep V-neckline with a flounce and flounce sleeves. The skirt has a gentle A-line shape. The front bodice is fitted with bust darts transferred to the side seams and waist darts. The back bodice is fitted with shoulder and waist darts. The front skirt features a yoke. Caitlin has flounces at the waist and at the bottom of the yoke. It fastens with an invisible zipper in the centre back seam. The dress is finished with a free-hanging lining and is midi length.

Suggested fabrics: Atlas, dress-weight viscose, natural silk, artificial silk, chiffon, crepe de chine, batiste.

For the lining, the designer recommends artificial fibres (viscose), blends (viscose + elastane, viscose + polyester), and synthetics (polyester, polyester + elastane).

The dress in the photos is made of chiffon. The fabric is lightweight, soft, with good drape and very little stretch. The fibre content is 100% natural silk. The lining is polyester + elastane.

Fabric requirements: When purchasing fabric, buy 5% more than required to account for shrinkage.

Main: 140 cm (55″) wide fabric, with a directional print/nap: 2.19 - 3.12 m (2 3/8 - 3 3/8 yd).

Lining: 140 cm (55") wide fabric: 1.74 - 2.48 m (1 7/8 - 2 3/4 yd).

Sizing: 34 – 52 (approx. UK 6 – 20, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Vikisews patterns are designed for a B/C cup.
