Tilly and the Buttons Marigold Jumpsuit/Trousers

Buy the Marigold Jumpsuit and Trousers sewing pattern from Tilly and the Buttons. The peg trousers are easy-fitting at the hip, with an elasticated waistband, gentle shaping with pleats and darts, tapered legs, and slash pockets for nonchalant slouching. The jumpsuit bodice has a sweetheart neckline, bust darts, blousy waist, wide (bra-concealing!) shoulder straps, and an invisible zip at the side.

Wear Marigold with heels and a statement necklace for bossing it at the office, or with sneakers for lounging at home or picnicking in the park. The jumpsuit also looks great layered over tops.

Suggested fabrics: Light- to medium-weight drapey fabrics, such as viscose (rayon), silk or poly crêpe de chine or lighter weight chambray. The trousers could also be made in a lightweight low stretch jersey.

Fabric requirements: Note some requirements will be greater for directional prints (see image gallery).

Trousers: 150 cm (60") wide fabric: 1.5 - 1.7 m (1 5/8 - 1 7/8 yd) // 115 cm (45") wide fabric: 1.8 - 2.5 m (2  - 2 3/4 yd).

Jumpsuit: 150 cm (60") wide fabric: 1.9 - 2.1 m (2 1/8 - 2 3/8 yd) // 115 cm (45") wide fabric: 2.3 - 3.2 m (2 1/2 - 3 1/2 yd).

Sizing: UK 6 – 20. Please check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Iron-on interfacing (similar weight to your fabric); your waist measurement in 2 cm (3/4") wide elastic // Jumpsuit only: 17-18 cm (7") invisible zip.
