Suggested fabrics: Soft woven fabrics or low stretch knits, such as French terry, ponte roma, needlecord, linen and blends, chambray, soft twill, viscose (rayon). If you're using a relatively thick fabric such as needlecord, choose a light- to medium-weight cotton for the bib lining (and pockets if you like) - otherwise you can use your main fabric for the lining too.

Fabric requirements:

140 cm (56") wide fabric: Full/cropped length, 2.1 - 2.9 m (2 3/8 - 3 1/4 yd ) + 0.7 - 1 m (3/4 - 1 1/8 yd) lining // Shorts, 1.3 - 2.3 m (1 1/2 - 2 1/2 yd) + 0.7 - 1 m (3/4 - 1 1/8 yd) lining.

115 cm (45") wide fabric: Full/cropped length, 2.6 - 3.5 m (2 7/8 - 3 7/8 yd) + 0.9 - 1 m (1 - 1 1/8 yd) lining // Shorts, 1.9 - 2.4 m (2 1/8 - 2 5/8 yd) + 0.9 - 1 m (1 - 1 1/8 yd) lining.

Dungas All Day!

I was a bit of a late starter, making my first dungarees last year. I now love them as they’re so comfortable to wear with just a little touch of fun.
Erin has a nicely shaped Princess seamed lined bib and a dropped waist with front in-seam pockets deep enough for my phone, keys and a whole lot of other paraphernalia! The instructions are clearly illustrated and I found them straightforward to follow.
I made a full length size 18 grading to 16 down through the hip…with a flat booty adjustment - typical mods I need nowadays!
Fabric is a soft medium weight suiting with an interesting texture I’ve had for a while - also used it to line my bib rather than a lighter weight fabric and that’s worked out well with this fabric.

Team Buttons kindly sent me the paper pattern to try out with no obligation to share. I love my new dungarees and sew ? happy to share! ?
