Buy the Classic Shirt sewing pattern from Modern Sewing Co. A classic shirt construction with an understated, modern cut. This style is fitted on the shoulders and features neat sleeves to give it an elegant feel. The shirt flares very slightly from the underarm to give some room around the bust and finishes in a slight A-line shape. The hem has a deep V-scoop to give easy access to trouser pockets, and the back features a big pleat to give the body more volume.

When sewing this piece you will go through all the traditional shirt making techniques to create a timeless, high quality wardrobe staple.

Quintessential Shirt

This shirt is called "Classic" for a reason - it has all the details you look for in a shirt combined with excellent written and illustrated instructions. As for fit, it's designed for all figure types and although I typically have to do an FBA with almost all tops, I learned that I can trust Hetty's drafting. There is not only the right amount of ease built into each size, because it flares ever-so-slightly from the underarm to hem, no FBA is required! Another endorsement from me: I love this shirt so much, I've made it twice and already have fabric lined up to make another.
