Penny is made with a woven or rigid fabric so you don’t have to worry about using stretchy fabric. Once you’ve made Penny in the plain version, you can add a bit of lace to your next pair for that extra special look! This pattern is designed specifically for beginners so there’s nothing too complicated.
Penny is a ruffle style knicker that sits at the hips. Penny has medium to full bum coverage and standard leg openings.

Front and back main: Light to medium weight rigid/woven fabric. 100% cotton, cotton lawn, rigid lace, satin, crepe.
Front and back lace: Rigid lace with scallop edge.
Gusset liner: Cotton jersey.
Fabric requirements:
Main: 120 cm wide fabric: 0.8 - 0.9 m // 150 cm wide fabric: 0.4 - 0.5 m.
Rigid double edged scalloped lace (optional, 13 - 17 cm wide depending on size): 0.7 - 0 .8 m.
Gusset liner (any width): 0.2 m.
Sizing: 1 – 9 / UK 6 – 22. Please check the size chart.
Notions: 3 m of lingerie elastic; bow or embellishment (optional).
PDF pattern includes: Step-by-step instructions with photos; A4/US letter print-at-home pattern (10 pages); A0 copy shop pattern (1 sheet).
