Sew Over It Cassie Dress

Buy the Cassie Dress sewing pattern from Sew Over It. This dress is one for the cottagecore lovers out there! If you’re after a really pretty make, look no further than Cassie with its fully shirred bodice, bound neckline, gathered tier skirt and gently puffed sleeves.

Choose between two sleeve lengths: just above the elbow, or full length with an elasticated wrist. Cassie is a midi length dress, but you could omit the extra hem tier to make it knee length. Additional elastic is sewn in at the waist, to ensure the dress maintains its shape. With no closures and the shirring in the bodice, you get the versatility of a woven fabric, with the comfort of a knit!

Suggested fabrics: Light to medium weight woven fabrics such as cotton lawn, cotton poplin, viscose, rayon or crepe.

Fabric requirements: The fabric quantity is calculated for Version 1. If you’re making Version 2, you will need 40 cm (0.5 yd) more fabric. Please note that to accommodate the width of the pattern in sizes 26-30, your fabric must be at least 140 cm (55") wide.

Sizes 6 – 20

1.40 m (55") wide fabric: 3 m (3 3/8 yd).

1.15 m (45") wide fabric: 3.8 - 4 m (4 1/8 - 4 3/8 yd).

Sizes 18 – 30

1.40 m (55") wide fabric: 4 - 4.2 m (4 3/8 - 4 5/8 yd).

1.15 m (45") wide fabric (sizes 18-24 only): 4.3 - 4.5 m (4 3/4 - 4 7/8 yd).

Sizing: UK 6 – 20 and UK 18 – 30 (approx. UK 6 – 20 and UK 20 – 32, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size charts and finished garment measurements.

This pattern is split into two different blocks. The 6 – 20 size range is drafted for a B cup. The 18 – 30 size range is drafted for a D cup.

Notions: 1.3 m of 6 mm elastic for the waist and sleeve hems; 3-5 spools of shirring elastic.
