Sew.lala Patterns Tilly Pants and Shorts

Buy the Tilly Pants and Shorts sewing pattern from Sew.lala Patterns. Tilly is a comfortable wide leg trouser with an elasticated waistband. The pattern is suitable for both knits and wovens, and you can make trousers for the office, weekend days out, or lounging at home depending on your fabric choice. Three lengths are included: full length (View A), shorts (View B) and 7/8 length (View C). An optional drawstring ensures a secure fit and adds a small detail. There are also optional side pockets and an option for a narrower waistband (as seen on View B).

Note if purchasing copy shop printing: Some of the pattern pieces have been split (to fit on the A0 sheets) and will need to be joined together.

Suggested fabrics: Lighter woven fabrics such as lightweight cotton like poplin, flannel, washed linen, or fluid wool fabrics. Medium weight stretch fabrics such as viscose knit or lighter sweatshirt fabrics can also be used.

Fabric requirements: Requirements are for cutting with the grain. See chart for cutting cross grain.

A Full length: 140 cm (55") wide fabric: 2.2 - 2.8 m (2.4 - 3.1 yd).

B Shorts: 140 cm (55") wide fabric: 1.5 - 2.0 m (1.7 - 2.2 yd).

B Shorts without drawstring: 140 cm (55") wide fabric: 1.2 - 1.6 m (1.4 - 1.8 yd).

C 7/8 length: 140 cm (55") wide fabric: 2.0 - 2.6 m (2.2 - 2.9 yd).

Sizing: EU 32 – 60 (approx. UK 6 – 32/34, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Elastic, 4 cm (1.5") wide for narrow waistband or 5 cm (2") wide for wide waistband (see chart).
