Sew.lala Patterns Alea Shirt and Dress

Buy the Alea Shirt and Dress sewing pattern from Sew.lala Patterns. Alea combines classic shirt styling with feminine and modern elements. It can be made as a shirt, or as a shirt dress with side splits and an optional elasticated waist. The design features a relaxed fit, dropped shoulders, and several different sleeve styles, as well as a sleeveless option. There are also two collar designs, a classic shirt collar or a stand-up collar, and an optional slanted patch pocket. All design elements can be mixed and matched so you can make your perfect shirt or shirt dress.

Note if purchasing copy shop printing: Some of the pattern pieces have been split (to fit on the A0 sheets) and will need to be joined together.

Suggested fabrics: Firm wovens. If you want a little more structure, choose linen, poplin or similar fabrics. If you want a breezy look, fluid fabrics made from viscose, tencel or silk in a lightweight quality are recommended.

Fabric requirements: 140 cm (55") wide fabric: View A Shirt, 1.5 - 2.2 m (1.7 - 2.4 yd) // View B Shirt, 1.7 - 2.1 m (1.9 - 2.3 yd) // View C Shirt, 1.5 - 2 m (1.7 - 2.2 yd) // View D Dress, 3 - 3.4 m (3.3 - 3.8 yd) // View E Dress, 2.5 - 2.8 m (2.8 - 3.1 yd).

Sizing: EU 32 – 60 (approx. UK 6 – 32/34, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: 0.3 m (0.4 yd) of lightweight fusible interfacing; 1.2 cm (1/2") buttons, 12 for A and B, 8 for C, 15 for D and E // View D: 0.7 m (0.8 yd) of 6 mm (1/4") wide elastic // View E: 20 mm (5/8") wide elastic for waist.
