Buy the Eva Tops and Dress sewing pattern from Sew DIY. These semi-fitted tops and sundress feature a square neckline and side bust darts, and are fitted at the back with a combination of narrow elastic and criss-crossed lacing. View A is a crop top that ends at the waistline. View B has a ruffled peplum and ends at the high hip. View C is a dress with a calf-length skirt and ruffle at the hem. The pattern includes A/B, C/D and E/F bust cup options for a customised fit.

This pattern is a hybrid of a traditional pattern that you need to print and a zero-waste style pattern. You will need to print (or project) the front bodice and front facing pattern pieces. The remaining pattern pieces are rectangles that you draw directly on your fabric and then cut out, saving you paper and fabric.

This sewing pattern is available to buy in the following formats:

– PDF (available to download immediately after purchase). What is a PDF?

– PDF pattern + Printed A0 copy shop (We print out the A0 pattern sheets, but you’ll need to download the digital instructions, as we don’t print these. The PDF files will be emailed immediately after purchase, and the A0 pattern sheets will be dispatched next working day). What is Copy Shop?

Note: The pattern includes pieces for the front bodice and front facing only. The remaining pieces are rectangles that you draw directly on your fabric (no pattern pieces needed).

Suggested fabrics: Light to medium-weight woven fabrics such as linen, chambray, cotton lawn, poplin, double gauze, rayon, and crepe de chine.

Fabric requirements: If you are using a directional print or are pattern matching, you may need additional fabric.

View A (crop top): 45″ (115 cm) wide fabric: 1 1/8 - 1 3/8 yd (1 - 1.2 m) // 60″ (150 cm) wide fabric: 7/8 - 1 1/8 yd (0.8 - 1 m).

View B (peplum top): 45″ (115 cm) wide fabric: 1 3/8 - 1 5/8 yd (1.2 - 1.5 m) // 60″ (150 cm) wide fabric: 1 1/4 - 1 3/8 yd (1.1 - 1.3 m).

View C (sundress): 45″ (115 cm) wide fabric*: 3 1/2 - 4 7/8 yd (3 - 4.4 m) // 60″ (150 cm) wide fabric: 3 1/4 - 3 1/2 yd (2.9 - 3.2 m).

* For sizes 4-22, the skirt ruffle pattern piece is drafted larger than 45" (115 cm) wide. For sizes 24-32, the skirt and skirt ruffle pattern pieces are drafted larger than 45" (115 cm) wide. You can use a wider fabric or piece together narrower fabric.

Sizing: US 0 – 32 with A/B, C/D and E/F cup sizes (approx. UK 4 – 30, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Note: The cup size for this pattern may not be the same as your bra size. Wearing only the undergarments that you plan on wearing with your dress/top, use a flexible measuring tape to measure your circumference at the upper bust and full bust. First, select the size that most closely matches your Upper Bust measurement on the size chart. Next, look down that column and find the Full Bust measurement that most closely matches yours. That is your cup size.

If you are between cup sizes, take the difference between your Upper Bust and Full Bust measurements. If the difference is 1-2" (2.5-5 cm), use the A/B cup; 3-4″ (7.5-10 cm), use the C/D cup; 5-6" (12.5-15 cm), use the E/F cup.

This pattern is designed for a height of 5’10” (178 cm). Adjust garment length at the lengthen/shorten lines to suit your height and style preferences.

Notions: Fusible interfacing; 3/8" (1 cm) wide elastic (see chart for recommended length).

PDF pattern includes: Instructions; US letter/A4 print-at-home pattern (8 pages for each cup size); US copy shop pattern (1 sheet for each cup size); A0 copy shop pattern (1 sheet for each cup size) // Layers: Yes // Projector file: Yes.
