Petits D'om Child/Teen Ipanema Swimsuit

Buy the Child/Teen Ipanema Swimsuit sewing pattern from Petits D'om. Ipanema is a one-piece swimsuit. The back neckline is quite low, and the straps can meet at the centre back or be crossed. You can add a bow to the base of the straps. An optional gathered ruffle embellishes the straps, extending over the shoulders. The ruffle is quite wide at the shoulders, narrowing gradually to the sides or centre back. Ipanema can be sewn with a sewing machine or an overlocker/serger.

Suggested fabrics: 

Main and secondary fabric: Bi-stretch lycra with at least 70% stretch.

Lining (for gusset): Swimsuit lining or light fine jersey.

Fabric requirements: 

Main fabric: 140 cm (58") wide fabric: 60 - 95 cm (3/4 - 1 yd).

Secondary fabric (for optional ruffle and bow): 140 cm (58") wide fabric: 20 cm (1/4 yd). Note the yardage of the main fabric is sufficient for the ruffle and bow.

Lining: 20 cm x 20 cm (8" x 8").

Sizing: 2 – 16 years. Please check the designer’s size chart.

Notions: Rubber elastic, 8 mm (5/16") wide, 2.3 - 3.8 m (2 1/2 - 4 1/4 yd).
