Notches Paula Trousers and Shorts

Buy the Paula Trousers and Shorts sewing pattern from Notches. The Paula Trousers feature a high fitted waist with a shaped waistband, pleats at the front, and tapered legs with darts at the hem. The waistband is non-elastic and closes with an invisible side zipper. You can also sew Paula as a pair of breezy summer shorts. Both versions can be made with or without pockets: in-seam pockets at the sides and welt pockets at the back.

Suggested fabrics: Paula works best in fabrics with the perfect balance of structure and drape. Think thin jacquard, gabardine, seersucker, lyocell denim, heavier viscose or cupro twill... With structured fabrics that do not drape the pleats will stand out more, creating a slightly poofier silhouette. Fabrics that drape will fall more closely to the leg.

Long trousers: 140 cm (55") wide fabric: Sizes 34-46, 230 cm (2 1/2 yd) // Sizes 48-62, 285 cm (3 1/8 yd).

Shorts: 140 cm (55") wide fabric: Sizes 34-46, 145 cm (1 5/8 yd) // Sizes 48-62, 170 cm (1 7/8 yd).

Sizing: EU 34 – 62 (approx. UK 6 – 34/36, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.
