Buy the Mariposa Bow-Back Dress sewing pattern from Nina Lee. A summer dress pattern with all the drama: big puffy sleeves, a three-tiered skirt and, of course, a fabulous bow to fasten the back! With no other fastenings, Mariposa is easy to sew and fit. Simply pull on the elastic in the sleeve heads, sleeve hems and back waist to achieve the perfect fit for you.

Suggested fabrics: Light to medium-weight fabrics such as cotton lawn, poplin, lightweight linen, viscose-linen blends, rayon, double gauze.

Fabric requirements: This pattern will not fit on 115 cm (45") wide fabric.

Sizes 6 - 20: 150 cm (60") wide fabric: 3.8 - 4.75 m (4 1/8 - 5 1/4 yd).

Sizes 16 - 28: 150 cm (60") wide fabric: 4.8 - 5 m (5 1/4 - 5 1/2 yd).

Sizing: UK 6 – 20 or UK 16 – 28 (approx. UK 6 - 20 or UK 18 - 28, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer's size charts and finished garment measurements.

The 6 - 20 pattern is drafted for a B cup. The 16 - 28 pattern has both B and D cup options.

Notions:

Sizes 6 - 20: 2 m of elastic, about 10 mm (1/2") wide; 3.5 m of double-fold bias binding, about 12 mm (1/2") wide (not more than 25 mm (1") wide). You might also want additional thread as there’s a lot of stitching!

Sizes 16 - 28: 3 m of elastic, about 10 mm (1/2") wide; 4.5 m of double-fold bias binding, about 12 mm (1/2") wide (not more than 25 mm (1") wide). You might also want additional thread as there’s a lot of stitching!
