Buy the Naomi Blazer sewing pattern from the Modern Sewing Co. The Naomi Blazer is a contemporary take on the traditional blazer. The designer has kept the core elements of blazer making while letting go of some of the more complex processes to create a piece that looks beautiful and is accessible to sew.

This fully fitted blazer has six darts and a back vent to create a soft and modern hourglass shape. Naomi features two types of welt pockets: a standard welt and a slanted breast pocket welt. The pattern has a classic two-piece sleeve with instructions for adding a shoulder pad and sleeve roll for a professional finish. The blazer is fully lined and finished by hand.

Suggested fabrics: Wools (tweed, very lightweight felt, suiting, twill, crepe, flannel), velvet, denim, gabardine or twill, thick linen weave, raw silk. Weight: 200-400 gsm.

Fabric requirements: 

Self: 150 cm wide fabric: 170 - 225 cm // 110 cm wide fabric: 240 - 300 cm.

Self (block fusing option): 150 cm wide fabric: 250 - 300 cm // 110 cm wide fabric: 310 - 360 cm.

Lining: 150 cm wide fabric: 135 - 160 cm // 110 cm wide fabric: 165 - 220 cm.

Sizing: UK 4 – 28 (approx. UK 4/6 – 26, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer's size chart and finished garment measurements.

This pattern is drafted for a height of 5'8" and a cup size 'B'. 

Notions: Mid-weight fusible interfacing, 90 cm wide, 100 cm; three buttons, approx. 2.5-3 cm diameter // Optional: two shoulder pads; two sleeve rolls. The designer recommends adding shoulder pads or sleeve rolls (or both) to give structure.
