Buy the Quilt and Sofa/Bed Topper sewing pattern from Merchant & Mills. Instructions for making a quilt or topper for a bed or sofa. The topper is ideal for covering a sofa your dog might want to jump on, or for wooden benches. The topper is made using fabric ties, and the quilt is made with linen thread ties, but these techniques are interchangeable.

Fabric requirements: Quilt, 2 m x 1.5 m (78 3/4" x 59") - one self + one contrast // Topper, 1.86 m x 0.84 m (73 1/4" x 33") - one self + one contrast // Ties for topper, 1.44 m x 0.06 m (56 3/4" x 2 1/2") - one self + one contrast.

Sizing: Quilt, 198 cm x 148 cm (78" x 52 1/4") // Topper, 184 cm x 82 cm (72 1/2" x 32 1/4").

Notions: Two pieces of wadding, 1.98 m x 1.48 m (78" x 58 1/4") for quilt or 1.84 m x 0.82 m (72 1/2" x 32 1/4") for topper // Quilt only: thick linen handsewing thread, approx. 18 m.
