Maven Patterns Good Times Skirt

Buy the Good Times Skirt sewing pattern from Maven Patterns. This slim A-line skirt has a reverse seam detail to make the most of a beautiful selvedge. But don’t worry if your favourite denim has a less than perfect selvedge, as the pattern includes four other seam finishes too. And it has huge pockets!

Designed to be made in two-way stretch denim, the skirt is fitted through the hip. The waistband cleverly uses the reverse of the denim for a delightful contrast. A centre back channelled zip goes to the top of the waistband. With two hem options to choose from – finished with a contrast fabric facing and deep topstitching or an on-trend raw edge finish – you can create multiple looks from this one pattern.

Suggested fabrics:

Main: Two-way (widthwise) stretch denim with 2-3% elastane. Other stretch woven fabrics with 2-3% elastane.

Contrast fabric for facings and optional binding: Lightweight cottons such as poplin or lawn.

Fabric requirements: All without nap. Repeating patterns, one-way directional prints, check or stripe matching may take more fabric.

Skirt cut using selvedge: 83 cm (32 1/2") wide fabric: 1.8 - 2.2 m (2 - 2 1/2 yd) // 115 cm (45") wide fabric: 1.5 m (1 3/4 yd) // 150 cm (60") wide fabric: 1.5 m (1 3/4 yd).

Skirt cut without using selvedge: 115 cm (45") wide fabric: 1.65 m (1 7/8 yd) // 150 cm (60") wide fabric: 1.3 m (1 1/2 yd).

Contrast: Pocket facings + hem facings + binding: 115 cm (45") wide fabric: 1.1 m (1 3/8 yd) / 150 cm (60") wide fabric: 90 cm (1 yd) // Binding only: 115 cm or 150 cm (45" or 60") wide fabric: 90 cm (1 yd) // Pocket facings + hem facings: 115 cm or 150 cm (45" or 60") wide fabric: 30 cm (3/8 yd) // Pocket facings only: 30 cm x 15 cm (11" x 6").
