- PDF pattern + Printed A0 copy shop (We print out the A0 pattern sheets, but you'll need to download the digital instructions, as we don't print these. The PDF files will be emailed immediately after purchase, and the A0 pattern sheets will be dispatched next working day). What is Copy Shop?

Suggested fabrics: Use medium weight knit fabric with 10%-25% stretch as well as great drape and recovery. Sweater knit and jersey are great choices. Choose a size smaller if your fabric has more than 25% stretch. You can use a contrast fabric for the waistband and band. Choose a fabric similar in weight and stretch to the primary fabric. But a contrast fabric is not necessary if you want to use only one fabric for the garment.

Fabric requirements:

Option to use primary fabric only: 54" (135 cm) wide fabric: 1 7/8 - 2 1/4 yd (170 - 200 cm).

Option to use contrast fabric for waistband and band: 54" (135 cm) wide fabric: Primary fabric, 1 5/8 - 2 1/8 yd (140 - 190 cm) // Contrast fabric, 1 - 1 1/8 yd (90 - 100 cm).

Sizing: US 00 – 20 (approx. UK 8 – 22). Please check the designer's size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: 12" (30 cm) of 3/8" or 1/2" (1 cm or 1.25 cm)-wide straight fusible stay tape (or you may cut your own using lightweight woven fusible interfacing on the straight grain); one 1" (2.5 cm) button (optional); four 2" x 2" (5 cm x 5 cm) pieces of lightweight knit or tricot fusible interfacing (if a button is used).

PDF pattern includes: Step-by-step illustrated instructions; US letter/A4 print-at-home pattern (28 pages); A0 copy shop pattern (2 sheets) // Layers: Yes // Projector file: No.

Paro Cardigan - Itch to Stitch

I’ll start by saying the obvious (once you see the photos of me wearing it!) I’m classing this as a Fail. In fairness, this is largely my own fault. I used a fabric with more stretch than recommended, so I sized down. However looking at the finished measurements of the garment I really should have sized down again at the waist and hip as there’s a fair amount of ease built in. That, coupled with the pleats, means that it just looks mammoth on me and deeply unflattering - I feel reeeeeally wide in it!!!!

The pattern does have really clear instructions for how to redraft the pattern to get the fit you want including how to tighten up the back which, in hindsight, I really would also have really benefited from.

If you’re planning to make it, I strongly recommend looking at the finished measurements and use a jersey without much ‘spring’ to it (or else topstitching those pleats down!)
