Can't stop wearing it!

I had spotted the Busan top and put it on my wish list absolutely ages ago, so when the pattern went on sale last year I popped it in my basket! I wear a lot more jeans and jumpers now I don't work in a professional environment, so I knew it would be a welcome addition to my wardrobe. I wanted to sew the top in a solid colour to show off the details and I thought a heavier weight fabric would hold the shape of the sleeves nicely, so I picked some 'cosy colours' sweatshirting in a lovely teal colour for my project.

This is the first time I have used an Itch to Stitch pattern and I thought it was very well-drafted with nice clear instructions and illustrations. I checked the size chart and finished garment measurements very carefully and chose to make the size 2. I really like the fit of the top - it's not too lose or tight and the proportions work well for me. It was a super quick sew and only took a couple of hours to whip up on my overlocker and the construction was very straightforward.

I actually made my Busan top back in January and I have already lost count of how many times I have worn it! It's super comfy and cosy, but still looks like you've made a bit of an effort compared to a plain sweatshirt - result! I'll be keeping my eye out for some more sweatshirting to make another version very soon.

A Basic Shirt Gets Kicked Up a Notch

I have nothing but great things to say about the Busan Top from Itch to Stitch! Taking only a few minutes more than a basic long sleeved tee this pattern checks off all the boxes of being quick and easy to sew, but creating a garment that feels far more "put together" than a regular tee. Sized from 00-20, there's a wide range of sizes to choose from for this top with it's pleated detail at the sleeve cap and extra long cuffs that cinch in the sleeve just below the elbow. So much easier then it looks

The statement sleeves on this top are very easy to sew even for a beginner as the instructions provided are incredibly detailed. They're sewn flat and with an overlocker and no pattern matching the whole top is a quick and easy sew. More info on my blog www.alexjudgesews.com
