In the Folds Hove Tote

Buy the Hove Tote sewing pattern from In the Folds. A tote with a twist, Hove is all about bending the rules (and the fabric!) to create a bag that's a bit different to the norm. With a puzzle-like construction and seam finishes on the outside, it can be made all in one fabric or in contrasting colours to highlight the different sections and shapes. It features a pleat with a pocket, knife pleats to create volume, and a facing to finish the top edge. Make one for yourself or as a special gift for a loved one.

Note if purchasing copy shop printing: The pattern will show both the cutting line (in black) and stitching line (in pale grey). One of the pattern pieces has been split (to fit on the A0 sheet) and will need to be joined together.

Suggested fabrics: Mid-weight woven fabrics such as linen, linen blends, cotton canvas (lightweight or mid-weight), cotton drill and denim. The pattern lends itself well to colour blocking. Keep in mind that the weight of the fabric will determine the amount of structure and drape in the finished bag. Be careful if using a fabric that doesn't have a stable weave as it may be difficult to work with.

Fabric requirements: 115 cm (45") wide fabric: 1.4 m (1.6 yd) // 150 cm (60") wide fabric: 1.1 m (1.2 yd).

Sizing: Finished measurements (approx. due to the nature of the design): H 45 cm (17 3/4") x W 44 cm (17 1/4").

Notions: 6 m (6.6 yd) of 25 mm (1") single-fold bias tape OR 1 m (1.1 yd) of lightweight cotton fabric to make your own; 0.25 m (0.3 yd) of lightweight fusible interfacing.
