Buy the Ruby Skirt sewing pattern from I AM Patterns. I am Ruby, a slightly flared skirt with three styles and five versions.
My first style is a long or short denim skirt with a fitted waistband, zip fly, front pockets, back pockets, and contrast topstitching. The long version has a back vent. My second style combines a long sheer outer skirt with a short opaque inner skirt. My third style is a long or short simple skirt with an invisible zip at the back.
Sewing level: Intermediate

Suggested fabrics: Ruby has no ease at the hips, so it’s best to choose a fabric with a bit of stretch. Be careful though, as knit fabrics aren’t suitable for this pattern.
Versions A and B:
Main: Medium weight woven fabrics such as denim, gabardine, cotton twill, faux leather, suede, tencel twill, corduroy, etc.
Pocket lining: Lightweight woven fabrics such as poplin, batiste, etc.
Version C:
Outer skirt: Openwork or sheer fabric with good structure, such as
embroidered cotton or silk organza, eyelet lace, etc.
Inner skirt: Medium weight woven fabric such as viscose twill, crepe,
cotton or silk satin, silk charmeuse, etc. Do not use standard lining fabric.
The inner skirt is not a lining but an integral part of the garment, which is
why it is referred to as the "inner skirt" rather than a "lining".
Versions D and E:
Gabardine, cotton twill, Prince of Wales check, tartan, tweed, wool suiting, tencel twill, smooth or fine corduroy velvet, jacquard, etc.
