Buy the Shirt to Child/Teen Tobermory Top sewing pattern from Greyfriars and Grace. This pattern shows you how to turn an existing large adult shirt into a lovely top. You get the benefit of beautiful professional tailoring (buttons and buttonholes, collar and cuffs) from the existing shirt, so all you need to do is some clever cutting and straight sewing!
The Tobermory Top has many variations - you design and decide! Collar (original, band or pleated) or no collar? Sleeves, cuff sleeves or no sleeves? Ruffle or no ruffle? You can also get really creative using different fabrics for the ruffles and trimmings.

Suggested fabrics and fabric requirements: An existing large adult shirt – the bigger the better. The shirt should be regular fit (not slim fit). A 17″ collar or larger is recommended.
Sizing: 8 - 16 years. Please check the size chart and finished garment measurements.
Notions: 2 yd/m of 1″ (25 mm) wide bias binding, or make your own using the included instructions; 1/2 yd (0.5 m) of ruffle fabric (if you are making the optional ruffle in a different fabric).
PDF pattern includes: Instructions; US letter/A4 print-at-home pattern (12 pages); A1 copy shop pattern (1 sheet).
