Buy the Children's Portobello Pocket Dress sewing pattern from Greyfriars and Grace. The Portobello Pocket Dress is a gorgeous dress with a relaxed fit, fully lined bodice, two large side pockets and a button back closure. Don’t like making buttonholes, no problem! This pattern also includes the environmentally friendly option to use an old shirt and its button placket.

Suggested fabrics: Cotton, linen or cotton/linen blend fabric for dress and lining.
Fabric requirements: Fabric requirements are for non-directional prints. If you need to pattern match, you may need more fabric.
44" (115 cm) or 54" (140 cm) wide fabric: Bodice and pockets, 1/2 - 3/4 yd (0.5 - 0.75 m) // Skirt, 1 - 1 1/2 yd (1 - 1.5 m) // Bodice and pocket lining, 1/2 - 3/4 yd (0.5 - 0.75 m).
60" (150 cm) wide fabric: Bodice and pockets, 1/2 - 3/4 yd (0.5 - 0.75 m) // Skirt, 1/2 - 1 1/2 yd (0.5 - 1.5 m) // Bodice and pocket lining, 1/2 - 3/4 yd (0.5 - 0.75 m).
A large adult shirt if using an existing shirt. Note sizes over 5 years will need an XXL or plus size (17"+ collar) shirt - the bigger the better.
Sizing: 2 – 10 years. Please check the size chart and finished garment measurements.
Notions: 3 buttons/snaps, or button strip from a large adult shirt.
PDF pattern includes: Instructions; US letter/A4 print-at-home pattern (8 pages); A2 copy shop pattern (1 sheet). This pattern only includes printable pieces for the bodice. The skirt and pocket pieces are rectangles, which you draw yourself using the measurements provided.
