Buy the Jeans to Children's Joppa Dress sewing pattern from Greyfriars and Grace. Be creative and turn old or unused jeans into a pretty dress. The Jeans to Joppa Dress is a comfortable A-line shape with front pockets, ruffle, and bias binding tie at the back. No buttons or zippers! Add your own personal stamp in your choice of fabric for the ruffle and binding. Wear sleeveless in the summer or with a long sleeve turtleneck in the winter. The denim makes it a hard-wearing dress for lots of play.

Suggested fabrics: Jeans – the bigger/longer the better. Long straight or wide leg jeans work best. Skinny jeans are not good. The extent of the flare at the bottom of your jeans will determine the flare of the dress. Ideally, ages 7 and 8 require jeans with a 31" or longer inside leg, but the pattern can be adjusted to use shorter length jeans, and you can increase the length of the ruffle if you feel the dress might be too short.
Fabric requirements: See chart for ideal minimum size of jeans (but the pattern can be adjusted to use shorter length jeans).
Sizing: 2 - 8 years. Please check the size chart and finished garment measurements.
Notions: Fabric for bias binding (or shop bought 1″/25 mm bias binding) and ruffle (see chart).
PDF pattern includes: Instructions; US letter/A4 print-at-home pattern (8 pages); A1 copy shop pattern (1 sheet).
