Buy the Laken Jacket sewing pattern from French Navy. The Laken Jacket has a modern, boxy fit with dropped sleeves and a zipper fastening. The pattern includes a spacious, three-piece drawstring hood and two pocket options. View A features large patch pockets with flaps and snap fastener closures, along with integrated hand warmers. View B has a two-piece front that neatly conceals the interior construction of its angled welt pockets. The jacket is unlined but impeccably finished, creating a casual yet refined piece that will be an invaluable addition to any wardrobe.

Suggested fabrics: 

Main: Medium to heavyweight woven fabrics such as corduroy, linen, denim, cotton twill, wool, wool blends, etc. 

Lining (Style A): Lightweight woven fabrics such as cotton or lightweight linen. If you want an extra cosy hand warmer pocket insert, then you can use a warmer fabric such as wool or sherpa for pattern piece 16. 

Lining (Style B): Lightweight woven fabrics such as cotton or lightweight linen. 

Fabric requirements: Extra fabric will be needed to match stripes or checks and for fabrics with a nap or a directional print.

Style A

Main: 115 cm (45") wide fabric: 2.7 - 3.4 m (2.9 - 3.6 yd) // 150 cm (59") wide fabric: 2 - 2.5 m (2.2 - 2.7 yd).

Lining: 20 cm x 40 cm (8" x 16").

Style B

Main: 115 cm (45") wide fabric: 2.4 - 3.4 m (2.6 - 3.6 yd) // 150 cm (59") wide fabric: 2 - 2.3 m (2.2 - 2.5 yd).

Lining: 115 cm (45") wide fabric: 60 cm (24") // 150 cm (59") wide fabric: 50 cm (20").

Sizing: A – N (approx. UK 6/8 – 34, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

The pattern is drafted for a height of 171 cm (5'7") and a B cup. 

Notions: 100 cm (40") x 90 cm (35") of lightweight fusible woven interfacing; 8 m (8.7 yd) purchased bias binding (5 cm/2" wide when unfolded) or a 67 cm (26 1/4") square of lightweight woven cotton fabric to make your own; one separating zipper (length depends on size); snap fasteners, six for Style A or two for Style B; two metal grommets/eyelets for hood drawstring; 1 m (1.1 yd) drawstring // Optional: two spring clasp cord stoppers for the drawstring; topstitching thread.
